The advertising industry's annual game of musical chairs has resumed, with a fresh round of appointments suggesting that the restlessness that typically accompanies the second quarter is alive and well.

Ford Motor Company, which has been reshaping its marketing organization with some regularity in recent years, has made changes to its roster. Lambda Legal, the civil rights organization, has brought in new marketing leadership, as has Momcozy, the brand aimed at nursing mothers that has been expanding its presence in a category once dominated by legacy players.

Mother New York, the independent agency that has carved out a distinctive position on the creative landscape, has announced personnel moves, as has Kinetico, the water treatment company. Rula, the mental health platform, rounds out the week's shuffle.

Elsewhere, Aspen Dental and Blue Bunny, the ice cream brand owned by Wells Enterprises, have made appointments. Droga5, the agency founded by David Droga that became part of the Accenture Song network, has added to its São Paulo operation — a market that American holding companies and their affiliates have been eyeing with renewed interest.

Amazon and Crystal Light have also shifted their executive lineups, and the Clio Awards, which has been a fixture of the industry's self-congratulation circuit since 1959, has made moves of its own.

(Whether any of these changes will prove consequential, or simply add to the cumulative blur of announcements that arrive in reporters' inboxes each Monday morning, remains to be seen.)

The hirings and departings continue a pattern that has become as predictable as the industry's complaints about procurement departments and its enthusiasm for purpose-driven marketing. Spring brings pitches, pitches bring wins and losses, and wins and losses bring new names on new doors.

The chairs, for now, have stopped moving. They will start again soon enough.
